POCATELLO " Donna Patricia Halliwell Brick, 90, passed away May 14, 2010 at a local hospital following a brief illness.
Donna was born March 24, 1920 in Pocatello. She was one of 5 children born to Jack and Pauline Halliwell. She graduated from Pocatello High School in May, 1938 and attended ISU in the fall of that year. She was married on July 25, 1939 to Harold Brick.
Being a devoted mother, she continued her education at ISU in the fall of 1963. After the death of her husband in August of 1964 she continued with her education to obtain a B.S. degree in Education in 1968. She taught second and fourth grade in Pocatello schools until her retirement in 1985.
Donna remained active in several organizations until her death. These included NSDAR, PEO, Bridge Club, Retired Teachers, American Legion Ruth Chapter of Eastern Star, and Writing Club. She was know for her abilities to socialize and loved to tell stores. She used her skills to create a family history book and, with the help of her late brother, a historical documentary of Idaho's copy of the Liberty Bell. She loved to travel, watch Phil Nicholson on TV, garden, and promote family history.
Donna is survived by a son, Dr. David Brick and his wife Martha living in Medfield, MA, a daughter, Susanne Davis living in Shingle Springs, CA, a sister, Joan Simmons living in Kennewick, WA and 2 grandchildren, Greg and Rebecca living in CA. She is predeceased by a brother John, and 2 sisters Jean and Lorraine.
The Brick family suggests contributions be made in her name to the American Heart Association and/or Trinity Episcopal Church.
