Donna Mae Barrick

Donna Mae Barrick, 93, passed away peacefully February 28, 2019 at the home of her daughter in Pocatello, Idaho.

Donna was born May 21, 1925 in Red Wing, Minnesota to Clarence and Anna Marlene (Strand) Heggem. When she was young, the family moved to Los Angeles, where she grew up and was educated.

Donna married Walter Spratt Axley, Sr., at which point she moved to the San Francisco area. They later moved to the San Jose and Santa Clara area. They were married for 22 years when they were divorced. She then married L. C. Barrick. In July, 2018, she moved to Pocatello, to live with her daughter.

Donna loved to crochet.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Edna M. Axley (Jack) Cagle , San Jose, CA; Susan A. (Jack) Farrell, Pocatello, ID; six grandchildren, Cindi Heller, Arnold, CA; Ronnie Cagle, Brentwood, CA; Tammi Martinez, San Jose, CA; John Cagle, Brentwood, CA; Spratt Axley, Sacramento, CA; Bill Axley, Sacramento, CA; 15 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, L. C. Barrick; son, Walter Spratt Axley Jr.; grandson, J.R. Simmons, brother, Clarence Dale Heggem; and her parents, Clarence and Anna Heggem.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Golden Gate National Cemetery, 1300 Sneath Lane, San Bruno, CA 94066.
