IDAHO FALLS-Donna Reath Lake, 87, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Bonaventure surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 1, 1925 in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho the daughter of George and Florence Avery. Donna and Melvin dated for five years prior to getting married. She married Melvin, the Love of her life, on February 1, 1942. Together they had 3 children; Vicky, Bill and Rick, raising them in the Lava Hot Springs area. Their marriage was solemnized later in 1942 in the Logan LDS Temple. She worked in Potato warehouses & fields during harvest time for 20 years. They where members of the LDS Church, she taught Primary and was a visiting teacher. Her likes include bowling, traveling with Melvin, gardening, canning and was an excellent cook. Her main focus was her husband, children and family, as well as friends. Many of their friends called them grandpa and grandma. She is survived by her husband of 70 years Melvin, daughter Vicky Heron both of Idaho Falls; sons Bill (Alyce) Lake of Salt Lake City, UT, Rick (Jules Bonsack) Lake of Encinitas, CA; brother Gordon "Hoot" Avery and sister Lola Irick; 9 grandchildren and many great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and three sisters. Friends may make memorial contributions to Hands of Hope Hospice in her name. Address : 1379 East 17th Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83204. A visitation will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the graveside at the LDS Church in Lava Hot Springs. A graveside service will follow at noon as well on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery.
