Donna Burnside

Donna Mae Burnside, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 20, 2010 at a local care facility. Donna was born to Leland Douglass and Ruby Arlain Christensen on April 23, 1937. Donna was born and raised in Teton Valley, later moving to Idaho Falls and finally to Pocatello.

She married Vernile Lloyd Burnside on May 8th, 1954, their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls temple on March 5, 1965. They were married for 35 years until 1989 when Vernile passed away.

Donna loved camping and her dogs. She loved her family; children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she also enjoyed spending time planting and caring for her flower and vegetable gardens.

Donna is survived by her children; Loyd D. (Marie) Burnside, Idaho Falls, ID, Peggy (John) Phillipp, Iona, ID, Kelly (Laurie) Burnside, Rigby, Tamara (Dennis) Waters, Idaho Falls, Cindy (Vance) Hill, Rigby, Toni (David) O'Brien, Pocatello and Jeremy Burnside, Idaho Falls; sister, Bonnie Swanson, East Wenatchee, WA; brother, Alan (Fran) Douglass, East Wenatchee, WA; sister-in-law, Donna Ruth Douglass, Idaho Falls; twenty-three grandchildren and thirty-nine great-grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by; her husband, Vernile Burnside; parents, Lee and Ruby Douglass; brothers, Carol and Wayne Douglass; and sister Lois Arlaine Hansen.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Bingham Memorial Hospital and Portneuf Heart and Vascular Center.
