Donald Roy Wilson

Donald Roy Wilson passed away on January 2, 2019 in Pocatello, ID, at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 29, 1933 in Salmon, ID to William McLachlan Wilson and Adele Fay Kingsbury. He was the fourth child with an older sister and two older brothers. Don attended school in Forney, ID, Blackfoot, ID, Missoula, MT, Salmon, ID and Rexburg, ID. The day before graduation he married the love of his life, Alice Smith, in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity. After marriage, they moved to Forney, ID to help his dad ranch for one year. Then it was off to work at the Cobalt Mine in Cobalt, ID. In 1956 they moved to Pocatello, ID. He worked for Consolidated Freight Ways and Garrett Freight Lines. About 1980, he bought his own semi and he and mom drove the Western States for 20 years. He and mom served a mission for 18 months in Winslow, AZ; for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Don is survived by his wife, Alice, Pocatello, ID; his 4 children, Jeff (Leona) Wilson, Pocatello, ID, Beverly (Bill) Saunders, Nephi, UT, Mike (Cindy) Wilson, Hermiston, OR and Mitch (Cindy) Wilson, Hermiston, OR; 18 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister; 2 brothers; a nephew; and a grandson. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home. 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11 am at the LDS Tyhee 7 th Ward Church, 12146 W. Tyhee Road Pocatello, ID. 83202, with a viewing for one hour prior. Interment will follow at the Sugar City Cemetery, Rexburg, ID.
