Donald B. (D.B.) Sidell

January 19, 1933 — May 10, 2014

Don passed away peacefully on May 10, 2014 into the loving arms of his wife, Margie.

Don was born January 19, 1933 in Batesville, Indiana to Russell and Margaret Sidell. Dad attended school in Batesville until at the age of seventeen; he felt the need and desire to enlist in the U.S. Navy. He served overseas during the Korean War. Dad loved this country and was proud to serve to ensure our continued freedoms. On October 7, 1953 Don married Marjorie Corum. It was a marriage and friendship that would last 58 years until he lost mom, January 25, 2012. After Don was discharged from the Navy, Mom and Dad lived in California, Utah and Washington and were finally able to move to Pocatello in 1961 and then later to McCammon. Dad worked several years in the construction field and in 1958; he began working for the Railroad as a switchman/brakeman. During the next 40+ years, Don served several terms as local chairman for the United Transportation Union. After retirement, Mom and Dad began making the annual migration south. With help from their daughter Dixie, this event continued for 18 years. Over the years, Mom and Dad made many friends from across the country and Canada.

Dad loved his family with all his heart. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, tea parties with his baby girls and granddaughters, any activity that would allow him to spend time with and create memories for his children and grandchildren. When you were with Dad, he made sure you had fun. Dad's wisdom, strength, integrity, love and character will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Margie, Don's parents, a sister and extended family and friends welcomed Dad into Heaven.
Don is survived by: a daughters, Donna (Neal) Jorgenson of Brandy Wine, Virginia,Dixie (Rob) of Pocatello, Maggie of Albuquerque, Mew Mexico, sons; Mark of Lava Hot Springs, Russell (Amy) of Aberdeen, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
