Dolores Traughber Garbett Miles, 86, of Pocatello, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, surrounded by family at EIRMC in Idaho Falls of natural causes. Dolores was born January 31, 1929 in Pocatello, Idaho to Clifford and Iva Traughber. She was the oldest and only daughter with brothers Beryl, Ned, and Lance. She grew up in Chubbuck on the farm where she enjoyed many outdoor adventures and learned homemaking skills from her mother. She graduated from Pocatello High School and attended ISU. She married Robert (Bob) S. Garbett on March 26, 1948 in the Idaho Falls LDS temple, and they settled in Pocatello. They were blessed with three sons and one daughter. She was very devoted to her faith and developed many wonderful friendships through the years, serving in all the auxiliaries, and as president of the ward and stake Relief Society. She enjoyed and was very skilled at crocheting, crafts, tole painting, sewing, and cooking. She taught 4-H for many years, served in DUP, and was a Cub Scout den leader. Following Bobs death, she married Jr. Russel Miles on March 2, 1973. This brought four more sons and two daughters into her life. She worked hard to provide frequent family gatherings and was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She willingly served her family and those around her as long as she could. After Russ passed away in 2000, her health declined, and she moved to assisted living in Idaho Falls. Dolores is survived by her children, Shawn (Susan) Garbett of Idaho Falls, Chris (Nata) Garbett of Kuna, Margot (Charles) Denney of Nampa, Mitchell Garbett, Byron (Kathy) Miles, Scot (Laurie) Miles, all of Pocatello, Deena (Steve) Riley of Tyhee, Rodney (Myra) Miles of Boise, and Mark (Debra) Miles of Julietta, Idaho; her brothers, Ned (Jeri) Traughber and Lance (Sherry) Traughber; 38 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Iva Traughber, both husbands, Bob Garbett and Russel Miles; her brother, Clifford Beryl Traughber; and a daughter, Jane Miles. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Lincoln Court for their kindness and care over the past six years and to the staff of One Source Home Health who assisted the past year. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at 5425 Bannock Highway, with Bishop Mike Ellis of the Indian Hills LDS Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave., Pocatello, ID 83201, 208-233-1500 and also from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church prior to the service.
