Diana Oblea, 58, of Chubbuck passed away due to medical complications Tuesday morning with family at her bed side.
Diana was born in Texas, the middle child of Ventura and Tony Sotelo, and was raised in Southeast Idaho. Growing up, she lived to be outside. She enjoyed camping, snow-mobiling, raising the family farm animals, and was a member of 4H. Most of all, she loved riding horses.
As an adult, she worked as a C.N.A., an operator at AMI, and an operator at Pillsbury/Basic American Foods. She later returned to school and earned two certificates and an associate degree from the Business Information Program at Idaho State University.
Diana was an incredible mother and grandmother, having raised three children and two grandchildren. She forever put her children first and spent her life caring for those around her. There is no way to explain what has been lost. She was happiest spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons Tony and Sergio Oblea; beautiful grandchildren Maricela Diana Hernandez, Sabastian Hernandez, and Sabrina Rose Oblea; mother Ventura Schroeder; sisters Janie Juarez and Berta Jaramillo; and nieces and nephews. Diana was preceded in death by her daughter Elisa Jaramillo, brother-in-law Martin Juarez, and nephew Jose Jaramillo.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday August 20, 2017 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 West Chubbuck Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Wilks Funeral Home 208-238-8000 to help defray the funeral costs.
