Devin William Mcculloch

September 18, 1952 — August 16, 2022

Devin W. McCulloch passed away at his home surrounded by family on August 16th, 2022. Devin was 69 years old. He was born on September 18th 1952, in Pocatello,Idaho to Cecil and Marie (Scherbel) McCulloch. Devin was one of six children.

Devin grew up in Pocatello where he attended Whittier Elementary, Hawthorne Junior High and Pocatello High School, graduating in 1970. After graduation, Devin worked for Cordon Pie Co. (he loved cherry pies). He graduated from ISU Vo-Tech in 1972, and then began to work for the UPRR as a Carman welder.

After high school, he married his high school sweetheart, Kristene Thomas, in 1971.  In their 25 years of marriage, they were blessed with 4 children.  Devin became an Engineer for the railroad in 1972 and remained there until his retirement in 1990.

If anyone knew how to build something and build it to last forever, it was Devin. He also had a talent for and a love of music. Listening to him play the guitar was contagious.  He had a beautiful deep voice which brought us joy and happiness. Devin loved the outdoors and created many memories camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time at the Blackfoot Reservoir with family.

Devin deeply loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who dearly loved him back. Rio, his chocolate lab, was his best friend forever and he had been missing him dearly for many years. We know the reunion between them is a happy one.

Those who knew Devin knew him as a cross between a grizzly bear and a teddy bear. He was strong and bold (sometimes rough around the edges), but has a heart of gold and a great (sometimes inappropriate) sense of humor. He was always making jokes and if we were not laughing, he was. The love he had for his family was as big and strong as he was. We love and cherish him deeply and we will miss him forever.

Devin is survived by his daughters Andra Marie Andrew and Jenifer Kaye (Matthew) Fullmer; sons Jake William (Chantilly Pavek) McCulloch and John Devin (Melanie Corrington) McCulloch; grandchildren:  Ashley Davis, Michael (Jerica) Andrew, Amber (Nathan) Santos, Malinda Fullmer, Mason Fullmer, Elaina McCulloch, Alexia McCulloch, Isaac McCulloch, Gavin McCulloch, Gracie McCulloch, and Adalyn McCulloch; great grandchildren: Greyson Andrew, Twyla Andrew, and Jersey Santos; siblings: Janeal (Glen) Meeds, Arlyn McCulloch, Lynette (Dave) Bower, Gaylene (Robert) Dawson, and Sheralee (Ben) Geppert.
