Derrick Schmidt

On Thursday, June 14, 2018, Derrick Mitchell Schmidt, 25, started his journey to meet his creator. We are very saddened he is not with us. Derrick was a sweet soul. He loved his family very much. He was born on July 27, 1992 in Pocatello, Idaho. Derrick was an extremely private person. Derrick was the "funny one". He always tried to keep everyone happy. His actions showed his love for his family. Derrick spent time with his grandma playing board games, cards, and helping her in the garden. He enjoyed spending time with family spearfishing, beading and playing basketball. He was a caregiver to his elders; grandpa, grandma and his mom. Derrick is survived by his mom, Cideahzah A. Ramon, Pocatello, ID; father, Daniel Schmidt, Fort Hall, ID; brother, Jacob Schmidt, Fort Hall, ID; sister, Jessica Schmidt, Blackfoot, ID; grandpa, Jon Ramon, Pocatello, ID; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends like family. He is preceded in death by his brother, Deland Schmidt; grandmother, Peggy Orchard; great-grandparents, Ray and Florence Orchard; grandmother, Beulah Ballard; and grandpa, Willard (Togo) Ballard. Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 16 at 9 am until Tuesday, June 19 at 2 pm at the Peggy Orchard residence in Fort Hall, ID. He will then be taken to the Good Shepherd Church Cemetery for burial.
