The world lost a valiant husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Dennis F. Brower was born May 2, 1953 in Ashton, Idaho to Merrill Earl Brower and Zelda Finn Brower. He was raised on the family farm in Felt, Idaho where he learned the value of hard work moving sprinkler pipe, raising cattle, grain, and potatoes. After the chores were done, he found time to do things farm boys do--mostly swimming in the gravel pit and riding bareback up and down the road on Old Blue with his two cousins, Mike and Kenny.
Dennis graduated from Teton High School in 1971 where he played football, basketball and served in school leadership. He was a delegate to Idaho Boys State in 1970. After graduation he attended Ricks College. When his children were in school, he served on the Teton County District 401 School Board for nine years.
He married his high school sweetheart and eternal companion, Jerrilee Jones, in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on November 21, 1972. They built a home on the family farm in Felt where they raised their four children, Candice, Camille, Cameron, and Collette. The family worked hard and spent countless hours attending football, baseball and basketball games, piano, singing, and dance recitals, and stayed involved in church activities.
Dennis farmed for several years and worked winters at Delmar's Furniture and Appliance in Driggs. He was involved in Young Farmers and Ranchers where he served as the State Young Farmers and Ranchers Chairman for the Idaho Farm Bureau and started a career with the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation in 1984. Over his 34 years with Farm Bureau the people he associated with became his second family. Dennis retired from the Idaho Farm Bureau in 2018.
Dennis was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he faithfully served in many callings. He touched countless lives with his Christ-like and compassionate love for others. His testimony of the Savior was unwavering. He was a humble servant who gave without expectation because he loved selflessly.
Dennis passed away on January 25, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jerrilee Jones Brower; children--Candice (Bart) Kunz, Camille (Jared) Lowry, Cameron (Denise) Brower, and Collette (Kris) Scott; sister, Leyan (Dean) Scott and brother, LaMar (Barbara) Brower. He found great joy with his 12 grandchildren--Shaylee (Tannar) Ward, Colbe Kunz (serving a mission in the North Dakota Bismarck Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints), Teagan Lowry, Cambrie Lowry, Kinlee Lowry, Maddy Brower, Dru Brower, Kellen Brower, Peyton Brower, Kayson Scott, and Kyler Scott.
