Denise C. Marcel

June 17, 1953 — November 12, 2019

Denise C. Marcel, 66, died of pneumonia the morning of November 12th after a long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis and associated liver problems.

Denise was born June 17, 1953 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Bernice and Herschel Pepin.

While working as a Vista, she met Doug Magee in Twin Falls, Idaho. They became partners January 13, 1980 and spent the next 39 years and 10 months together. They had one son, born in 1982, while living in St. Paul.

Denise loved her family and friends, dogs and other lifeforms, communication, both inter and intra-species, poetry, good stories, riding horses, walking, music, reading, making quilts and other hand work. She was dearly loved by those that knew her.

She graduated from the University of Minnesota with an Associate of Liberal Arts degree. Later she studied American Sign Language at College of Southern Idaho and at the St. Paul Technical and Vocational Institute, where she also worked as a sign language interpreter. She worked many years for the Department of Health and Welfare in both Minnesota and Idaho. In 1997, Denise attended the New York School of Dog Grooming. That year she established Ma n' Paws Pet Parlor, a dog grooming salon, and happily worked as a groomer until the RA made it impossible for her to continue.

She is survived by her life companion Doug Magee, son Devon, sisters LynnRae, Kathleen, and Laurie, and her pug Ronin.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor at 2:00 p.m. on Friday November 15, 2019 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd. Chubbuck, Idaho.
