Deloris D Johnson

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother Deloris Disher Johnson, age 90, returned home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 11, 2023 after many health complications. Born in Blackfoot Idaho to Wilbur and Reva Disher on January 17, 1933, she then moved to Pocatello when she was young where she has spent the rest of her life.

Deloris attended Pocatello High School where she met and married the love of her life Alma Johnson in 1952. She was able to be reunited with Al just in time to celebrate his birthday with him after being apart for 21yrs. Deloris worked at the Portneuf (formerly Bannock) Hospital for 35 years where she provided excellent customer service to everyone she talked to. She also volunteered at the Pocatello Welcome Center for a few years, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the El Rancho ward for many years. She delighted in serving others even in her late years when she couldn’t get around, she still found a way to serve others. She loved her family and would do anything to help them out and she always wanted them around her. She loved doing her wordsearch puzzle books and a lot of times would say that is all she wanted for the holidays.

Deloris is survived by her two children, Bobette (Brent) Buttars, Kenneth (Teresa) Johnson; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; and 1 sister Connie (Wyndam). She is preceded in death by her husband Alma Johnson, parents Wilbur and Reva Disher, siblings, Bob Disher, Barbara (Rob) Oliver, Bonnie (Raymond) Preston, and Richard Disher.

We would like to give a special thanks to Diane Quigley whom she referred to as another daughter for all the years she has helped mom, and everyone in her El Rancho ward for everything they have done to assist her and all their service. We would also like to thank the staff and nurses at Gateway, Brookdale, and Hospice for their great care and support.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the El Rancho Ward, 300 E Chapel Road, Pocatello, ID. Viewings will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday August 18, 2023, at Wilks Colonial Chapel, 2005 S 4th Ave, Pocatello, ID and 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Interment, Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5th Ave, Pocatello, ID.
