Delorace M Metcalf

DeLorace M Metcalf, 81, passed away February 16, 2018 in Pocatello, ID. She was born on November 20, 1936, in Idaho Falls, ID. She was raised on a dairy farm in Groveland, ID with her 5 brothers and 1 sister. She graduated from Blackfoot High School. DeLorace was sealed for time and all eternity to Donald G. Metcalf on July 1, 1955 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho LDS Temple. They raised 5 children together; Carol LuWynn Haws, Ella Clarice Metcalf, Sharlene Croney, Cheryl Howell and Stephen Metcalf. They were married for 41 years before she was preceded in her husbands death in 1994. They have 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress who worked for various businesses here in Pocatello. Her main focus was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. DeLorace was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints where she served mainly as a chorister and organist. She loved to sew and cross stitch. She always greeted everyone with a passionate demeanor and left you smiling. She was a caretaker of her family, close neighbors and friends. Her life was filled with service and she was loved by all who met her. Her love and laughter will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Metcalf; her parents, Horace Hale and Delta Ivy Mangum; her brothers, Ernest Hale, CA, Gerald Hale, Idaho Falls, ID, and Roger Hale, Boise, ID. DeLorace is survived by her siblings, Elgie Hale, Wilford Hale, and her sister, Carol. Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 22 at 1 pm at the LDS Chapel, 550 W. Cedar Street. A viewing will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID, on Wednesday, February 21 from 5-7 pm as well as one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID.
