Deesta Cornwall

DeEsta Cornwall, 71, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away February 28, 2014 in Pocatello. DeEsta was born April 21, 1942 in Idaho Falls to Leonard and Wilma Ross. She was raised by Clarence and Wilma Warren in the Rigby/Ririe area. She married George T. Hames on August 15, 1958. Together they had four children, two girls, Connie Jean and Quantilla Rae and two boys, George Allen and Vernal Lee. She was married to Verl Cox from 1977 - 1991 and Ray Cornwall from 2005 - present. DeEsta worked at Nonpareil in Blackfoot as a lab technician, and at Basic American foods where she retired. Whether she was at work or with friends of her children, everyone called her "mom". She enjoyed quilting beautiful blankets, making intricate needlepoint art, or crocheting a baby blanket for anyone who was expecting. She also enjoyed going to the mountains and panning for gold or using her metal detector. DeEsta was family to many and a friend to all. Everyone who had the pleasure to know her has happy memories and knows that she will be forever missed. DeEsta is survived by her husband Herman Ray Cornwall, Inkom; daughter Connie (Jim) Beasley, Cloverdale, OR; son George Allen (Michelle), Hames, Blackfoot; and son Lee (Dawniel) Hames. Tumwater, WA., son-in-law, Ted Jockumson She is also survived by three step-daughters, Lynn (Mike) Ewell, Pocatello; Kathy Cornwall, Wisconsin; Sue (Clay) Bowman, Inkom; and three step-sons, Raymond Cornwall, Pocatello; Matthew (Crystal) Cornwall, Arimo; and Anthony (Rhonda) Cornwall, Pocatello; 36 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Wilma Warren and daughter Quantilla Jockumson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the LDS Century Ward, located at 2271 S. 4th Avenue, Pocatello, on Wednesday March 5, 2014, with Bishop Hallinan conducting. A family luncheon will follow. Family will meet with friends and relatives one hour prior to services at the church.
