Dee Ann Christensen

Dee Ann passed away suddenly on Sunday October 27, 2013 while visiting friends and family in Jacksonville, Florida.

Dee Ann was born in American Falls Idaho to Lowell and Dorothy King On April 21, 1947. She was raised and attended school in Aberdeen, Idaho and later attended college in Utah and Idaho majoring in education. She married John Henderson and to that union was born Valerie Henderson. They later divorced. She married Lynn Mansfield and Jeffrey and Tanya joined their family. They later divorced. On August 1, 1981 she married Allan Christensen and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple.

Dee Ann was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various church callings. Despite her many health problems, she loved life and lived it to the fullest. She worked at Pebble Creek Ski area, Chuck Wagon restaurant, the Lava Senior Center, Rindlisbaker Farms, and was a caregiver for many. She loved caring for others, socializing, traveling (particularly with her father), and especially spoiling her family at Christmas. She loved card games, dice games, and any activity with her family. She loved going to the movies, attending the Marsh Valley Performing Arts Center, and the Gem Valley Performing Arts Center. She loved camping trips and family reunions.

Dee Ann is survived by her husband Allan Christensen, Lava Hot Springs, Idaho; children Valerie (Gary) King, Pocatello Idaho; Jeffrey (Amy) Mansfield, Chubbuck Idaho; Tanya Kriner, Pocatello, Idaho; sisters Carol Newman, California; Loa (Bob) Lounsbury, Pocatello Idaho; Barbara (Dean) Gilbert, Bancroft, Idaho; Trena (Blake) Carlsen, Elko, Nevada; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held at Wilks Funeral Home in Pocatello on Tuesday, November 12th from 6:00-8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, November 13 at 1:30 pm at the LDS church in Lava Hot Springs. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up to assist the family with medical costs. A donation can be made in Dee Ann's name at any Ireland Bank. The family would like to express a special thanks to Craig Barnes and all of the staff at Wilks Funeral Home for the care and compassion shown our family during this difficult time.
