Debbie Hirschi,59, passed away peacefully March 9, 2015 surrounded by her loving family after a valiant battle with Diabetes. Debbie was born November 5, 1955 in Boise to Wilma Lois Kinghorn. Lois married moms dad, John L. Norton in 1956. Mom attended Roosevelt Elementary, Alameda Junior High and Highland High School where she graduated in 1974 with her husband Hal. Mom met her punkin , Hal Hirschi, at a Seminary Social while they were Juniors at Highland High School and have been together ever since. Mom and Dad were married November 10, 1973 and started their family while finishing high school. Hal and Debbie were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple December 10, 1974. Moms primary occupation in life was being a wife, mother and grandma. Mom watched kids in her home for many years and did Piggily Wiggily Preschool as she raised her kids. One of the grandchildrens favorite memory with mom was Granny Day Care along with her mom Lois and sisters Lynda and Vicki. Debbie was a lifelong member of the LDS church having primarily attended the Alameda 15 th and 17 th Wards, Pocatello 41 st and 52 nd Wards and most recently the Tyhee 7 th Ward. She served in the primary, relief society and the young womens programs. Her love was service in the Relief Society and Girls Camp with the Young Women in the Pocatello West Stake. Mom enjoyed baking and cooking for others, collecting pigs, camping and being with her family and friends. Mom met MANY friends along her life journey that she cherished and adored. Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Hal Hirschi; her children, Michael Hirschi, David (Brandi) Hirschi, Heidi (Jeff) Moser, Ben (Kathryn) Hirschi and Elizabeth (Charlie) Misner. Mom was also blessed to be a foster parent to Jeffrey Bearing. She is survived by her 17 grandchildren that she treasured, Clay, Autumn, Sage, Cedar, Oakley, Halee, Malree, Kaylee, Preslee, Garrett, Gavin, Adison, Tessa, Kenady, Maridia, Baylee and Whitney. Debbie is also survived by her mother-in- law, Velma Hirschi and her siblings, Lynda (Jim) Pfaff, Vicki (Fred) Ostler, and Jack Norton and her half brother. Mom also leaves behind her loving Uncle, Bill (Dart) Kinghorn, her Kinghorn Aunties who adored her and considered her to be their baby Sister, Dorothy Waddoups, Dolores Divine, Mary (Bill) Lloyd, and Carol Kinghorn; her Paternal Uncle and Aunts, Tom (Darlene) Norton, Catherine Helt and Cookie Richards. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lois Norton; father-in-law, Keith Hirschi; a half-sister, as well as her grandparents, Beth Kinghorn, Alice Norton, William Bug and Violet Spillman and John R. and Esther Norton. She reunited with many extended family members from the Norton, Kinghorn, Hirschi and Wolverton families. The family would like to thank the multiple medical providers that cared for our mom over the last 30+ years including the late Dr. Michael Baker, Dr. Marc Farnworth, Dr. Brizzee, the staff and Doctors at the Idaho Kidney Institute, and the staff of PMC that pampered her & loved her during her many hospital visits. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Tyhee Stake Center, 12146 Tyhee Rd. (Corner of Tyhee and Moonglow Rd.) Pocatello, ID 83202. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 208-233-1500 and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
