Deanna Davies Rosen, 66, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on October 16, 2023 after a hard fought battle with Pancreatic cancer.
She was born Feb. 15, 1957 in Logan, Utah, the 2nd child and 1st daughter of Robert Richard and Carol Joyce Gooch Davies.
She married Ray Allan Rosen on April 30, 1982 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were each others' best friend and enjoyed traveling and exploring the beautiful world that God gave us. They loved each other through all the joys, trials, health and illnesses of life.
Deanna's pride and joy were definitely her 3 children, Krystal, Korey, and Kodey, and her 7 grand children, Taylor, Kennedy, Lucas, Camden, Mavrik, Caroline and Memphis. She meant the absolute world to each and every one of them. They will spend their lives continuing her legacy and honoring her.
Deanna was a devoted and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in many callings throughout her life, starting with being a member of the Pocatello High School seminary council as well as a pianist/ward organist, Primary teacher, YSA Relief Society President, Young Women's President, Sunday School teacher in the Stake Relief Society Presidency and for several years, she served in the churches addiction recovery program. She also joyfully served in her community as a valuable asset serving on the Board of Guardians, caring for those who couldn't care for themselves.
Deanna's joy for life came in many different ways, but one thing is for sure, everything that brought her joy was centered around her family. Whether it was as simple as doing a puzzle on her iPad or camping in the Idaho mountains, you could guarantee her loved ones were at her side because she wouldn't have it any other way. She was literally an Angel sent from above to serve and take care of her family and everyone she knew. Even if it meant giving up her own desires, she would always put others first. Starting at the young age of 14, she served her parents and siblings as they went through a hard trial of serious illnesses. Since that day, she has exemplified this throughout her life, constantly serving and caring for siblings, her husband, children, grandchildren, neighbors and friends.
Everyone knew that Deanna was someone they could turn to for love and support. Towards the end it was very evident that it was not the lack of physical activity but the inability to serve others that bothered her most. There are no amount of words that can describe how much Deanna will be missed from all who loved her. We are grateful to know that she is now continuing to do what she loves by serving her loved ones that have passed before her as well as being a guardian Angel to us who are still on this earth.
Deanna is survived by and lives on through her husband Ray Allen Rosen, her 3 children Krystal Dawn Kimmitt, Korey Ray Rosen (Lindsy), Kodey Robert Rosen (Sarah) her 7 grandchildren Taylor June Rosen, Kennedy Nichole Kimmitt, Lucas Ray Rosen, Camden Alexander Kimmitt, Mavrik Charles Rosen, Caroline Renae Kimmitt and Memphis Teo Rosen. As well as her 5 siblings, Richard Bruce Davies (Melodee), James Melvon Davies (Sheryl), Barbara Jo Davies, Keith Robert Davies (Lana), Margaret(Margie) Ann Barlow (Ken) and several nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her loving parents Robert Richard Davies and Carol Joyce Gooch Davies.
The family would like to thank all friends and family who have loved and cared for Deanna throughout her life.
