Dawn Marie Imel

Dawn Marie Imel, 61, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017. Dawn was sent to her paradise and reunited with her momma after a long and courageous battle with an illness that took over her entire body. Dawn was born December 29, 1955 to Wilma "Wendy" Goodwin and Robert William Imel in Fort Eustis, Virginia. Dawn spent most of her life as a "Navy Brat"; she attended many different schools throughout her childhood. In 1973 she graduated from Montgomery High School, in California. Dawn moved to Idaho in 1975 and has lived here ever since. Early on she worked as a nursing assistant and later on worked for Lamb Weston in American Falls. In 1991 she was hurt and went back to school. Dawn worked very hard at school and graduated with her Masters of Education in 1999 from Idaho State University. Dawn started working for the University in 1997; she thoroughly loved her job, her co-workers and ISU. Dawn enjoyed movies, reading, computers, tennis, swimming, family vacations, and spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Dawn is survived by her daughter, Wendi (Jason) Ames, Pocatello; father, Robert Imel , Virginia Beach, Virginia; brother, Robert (Angelica) Imel, San Diego, California; sister, Johanna (Robert) Compher, Oregon; sister, LeeAnn (Brian) Hartford, Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Weslie (Joseph) Hicken, Pocatello, Stetson (Shayla) Dunn, Pocatello, Baylie Dunn, Pocatello, Tony Turner, Pocatello, Jake Ames, Parker Ames, Kenzie Ames, Presley Ames, Paityn Ames, Ogden, Utah; and her great-grandchildren, Tatum Hicken and Tynzlie Hicken, Pocatello. Dawn was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Wilma "Wendy" Moore. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 4-6 pm at the ISU Student Union Ballroom.
