David Merrill

POCATELLO - David George Merrill, 65, of Pocatello, died on Monday, June 18, 2012, at a local hospital. He was born on June 11, 1947, in Glendale, California. He graduated from Duarte High and went to Citrus College. He lived in California, Colorado, and Idaho. David married Marilyn Louise Anderson on June 26, 1970, in California. He was a Teamster Truckdriver and retired from ABF Freight and also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. David loved music and he could play all instruments. He loved photography and filming. He was very talented with woodworking and building. He enjoyed surfing, dirt bike riding, and playing on computers. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Louise Anderson of Pocatello, son Craig Matthew Merrill and wife Tracy Francel Merrill of Pocatello, son Jason Wade Merrill of Los Angeles, CA, sister Marjorie Ann Atkinson of Alta Loma, CA, sister Barbara Jean Taylor of Pahrump, NV, sister Mary Louise Midgett of Pine Grove, CA, sister Judith Eileen Main of Yucaipa, CA, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Sheldon and Eileen Marjorie (Cook) Merrill and brother Robert Lee Merrill. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012, at 755 Marinus in Pocatello. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the family to help defray memorial expenses.
