David Keller

David Glen Keller, age 46, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Friday, November 18, 2016 at L.D.S. Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah following a lengthy illness.

David Glen Keller was born June 12, 1970 in Pocatello, Idaho to Glen Roy Keller and Janet Lee Keller. David grew up in McCammon, Idaho; where he excelled in Scouting and achieved the rank of Eagle. He spent time as an exchange student in Germany. He participated in the Mar-Vals singing group. He was an active participant in the Drama program. David graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1988. He went on to be a performer at the Worm Creek Theatre in Preston, Idaho.

It was during this time that David developed a strong knowledge of the scriptures and of the L.D.S. Church history that was second to none. If anyone had a question he was the one to go to. If you needed help with a talk he was the one to go to. If you ended up in a debate with David you were usually persuaded to his point of view. It was always a treat to see David debate scripture with Grandma Willes.

David served a faithful two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Norway Oslo Mission from 1989-1991. David's mission; the experiences he had, the people he came to love as his own family, the fellow missionaries that he formed a bond of brotherhood with, and the love of the Savior Jesus Christ that he shared has never been forgotten, and was a highlight of his life.

While David enjoyed many things in life, his true passion was in expressing himself at a very young age in the art of painting. The world around him was his canvas. He worked very hard to perfect his art and the end results were the masterpieces that he created. Whether it was his watercolors, anything of an abstract nature, or his black and white paintings that looked real; they always left you in awe of his ability, art, and the type of person he truly was.

David was a humble man who never complained or wanted anyone to worry about him. This was especially true of his countless medical problems he faced. Those medical issues gradually took their toll on him. However, he was more interested in his family, and what they were doing. He would always turn the conversation away from himself and to see what he could do to help. Even in his last few days, he wanted to make sure we were okay and for us not to worry. His sharp sense of humor was still evident to the end.

In every sense of the word, David was the best; son, brother, uncle and friend. Every person that knew him or came across him was a better person for having known him.

David is survived by his wonderful mother, Janet Keller of Pocatello, Idaho; sister, Dianne (Shawn) Auger of Syracuse, Utah; brother, Kenneth (Randie) Keller of Pocatello, Idaho; sister, Jan (Corey) Roth of Chubbuck, Idaho; sister Renae Braack of Pocatello, Idaho; brother, Michael (Emaly) Keller of Willard, Missouri; and 13 nieces and nephews that loved their uncle David.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Keller; Grandma and Grandpa Keller; and his Grandma and Grandpa Willes.

While David suffered much, he lived a great life and was loved by all who came in contact with him.
A very heartfelt "Thank You" from the Keller family to all those who have visited or taken care of David over the years. A special thank you is directed to the doctors and nurses at L.D.S. Hospital for their tender care of David in his final days. And from the bottom of our hearts, a tremendous thank you to all those who have generously given to the gofundme account for David, without your efforts none of this would have been possible. May you all be blessed for your kindness and efforts.
Let us all take comfort in this scripture from the Book of Mormon:
"And I soon go to the place of my rest, which is with my redeemer; for I know that in him I shall rest. And I rejoice in the day when my mortal shall put on immortality, and shall stand before him; then shall I see his face with pleasure, and he will say unto me: Come unto me ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the mansions of my Father." (Enos 1:27)
