POCATELLO - David Guy Proctor, 68, passed away at home from a long illness on August 11, 2012 surrounded by his loved ones. Dave was born on June 6, 1944 in Pocatello, Idaho. He attended Pocatello schools and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1962, completing the Airborne Ranger Program. After 1965, Dave returned to Pocatello and began his 25 year career with the U.S. Postal Service, serving in many positions. After his retirement from the Postal Service, he began working at the Pocatello School District bus garage as a bus driver for 14 years. Throughout his life, he was involved in many activities including coaching Bannock Boys Baseball, Scout Master, and participating in bowling leagues. He loved and cherished all of his friends, and wanted them to remember the good times he had with them. May he continue to bowl, fish, hunt, and gold mine to his heart's content! He will be greatly missed by all. As he always said, "Airborne!" Dave is survived by Susan Proctor, his dedicated wife of 28 years; Michele Surmelis (Dan) daughter; Henry Proctor, son; Hank Proctor (Mavis) brother in Spokane, Washington; Karen Musser (Jim) sister in Grand Coulee, Washington; Diane Proctor, sister in Boise, Idaho and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Guy and Margaret Proctor. Per Dave's wishes, he was cremated with no services planned.
