David Andrew Foutz, 64, died peacefully in his sleep on October 27, 2011 at his home in Spring,Texas. David was born inPocatello,Idahoon July 22, 1947, the third child and only son, of David "Harry" and Frances Verbeck Foutz. His childhood years were spent living on a farm in theAberdeen,Idahoarea nearSterlingwhere he enjoyed the great outdoors and rural life. He was blessed to grow up in a loving and supportive family that worked, played, and laughed together. An added joy was having his grandparents, uncles and their families, and special neighbors just a bike ride away. After graduating fromAberdeenHigh schoolin 1965, he attendedIdahoStateUniversity. He married Mavis Gomke on June 13, 1970. Their first son David Walter was born in September 1971 and tragically died of meningitis before leaving the hospital. They were blessed by the arrival of their second son, Douglas Michael born in January of 1973. David worked in sales and the food industry for many years. In theSalt Lake City,Utaharea, he was a service technician and in sales at AB Dick Company and then a manager of several J.B.'s restaurants. InPocatello, he worked in auto sales at Ted's and was manager of Denny's restaurant. In later years, he moved toTwin Fallswhere he worked in sales positions at Grover's Hardware and Will'sToyota. While there, he met Evelyn Rogers and they were married, but later divorced. In 2003, David moved to theHoustonarea to be near his sister Janice and her husband, Riley Killian. He assisted them with the care of his mother, who was residing in a care facility. During this time his professional endeavors were cut short by a growing number of medical issues. David had a great love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his family and friends. He was a bright and gregarious man, whose warmth, kindness, and generosity touched everyone he met. He will be remembered for his quick wit, story telling talents, and zest for life. David was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and son David. He is survived by his loving son and best friend, Doug Foutz of Nampa, Idaho, his two sisters, Janice (Riley) Killian of Kingwood, Texas and Kathleen (Bob) Satterwhite of Eagle, Idaho, his nephew Steve Walker and son Michael of Plano, Texas, nephew Scott (Julia) Walker and children Thomas and Victoria of Humble, Texas, and extended family and friends. A Memorial Service celebrating David's life will be held on Thursday, November 17, at 11:00 a.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home at 2005 S. 4 th Ave,Pocatello,ID. Following the service, a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Clarion at1399 Bench Road,Pocatello,ID until 2:30 p.m. Inurnment will follow at 4 p.m. at the Aberdeen Cemetery.
