David Vincent Anderson

September 20, 1968 — December 27, 2024

Pocatello

Our second born son passed away December 27, 2024. Leaving a large hole in this small family’s life.

David Vincent Anderson was born September 20, 1968 in San Jose California. Our family moved to Pocatello in 1977. David attended Tyhee Elementary School, Hawthorne Junior High School and Highland High School.

During high school he was employed at Gabertinos Restaurant, one of Pocatello’s best. Full time employment followed at Rowland’s Dairy and Idaho Hydraulics. After 28 years of repairing hydraulic cylinders he retired in 2022. He picked up part time work with Mickey Morrison at his boat shop, mounting and repairing boat motors.

David was an avid fisherman. Summer weekends found him in his jet boat fishing the Snake River. Annual trips to our cabin in Alaska netted him a supply of Salmon, Halibut and Dungeness Crab for his freezer.

A natural with the oars, he made several whitewater trips down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in his 13 foot inflatable raft. One fateful trip he repaired a broken propane regulator, patiently filing new threads onto the broken stem. We were able to use the propane stove for the remainder of our trip, thanks to his efforts.

As a young man David enjoyed Pocatello winters on the slopes of Pebble Creek. An excellent skier, he could be found shushing through the trees or mastering the moguls on Liftline. Yes, he was one of those kids that made it look so easy.

A man of many talents and interests, he became active in a local RCC (remote control car) group. He formed strong friendships with fellow enthusiasts, participating in rock crawling expeditions, races and demonstrations. He turned his yard into a race track, where he and his friends spent many laugh filled hours.

Friday mornings often found him with Aunt Liz perusing local estate sales. Tools, fishing equipment and art were his favorite finds.

A resourceful handyman he was quick to come to the assistance of friends and family. Whether it was a plumbing problem, yard work or painting he put his heart into the work. He was a perfectionist, working diligently to achieve the best results.

David was a good man, a good son, a good brother, a good friend, a good 4 paw bowl filler and stubborn as a steel wall. He is greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his parents Don and Charlene Anderson, brother Christopher Anderson, sister-in-law Cherro Anderson, Honorary Idaho Aunt Liz Benson, Aunt Nancy Anderson, cousins Patti Graff, Anthony Anderson, Wendy Anderson and Brian Anderson.

Preceded in death by Grandparents, Bill and Dolores Bass, Earnest and Nellie Anderson, Uncles Robert Anderson and E. Vernon Anderson.

Rest in Peace Dear Son

Always in our hearts
