David Allan Gillard

David Allan Gillard, 74, passed away peacefully May 3, 2018 at a local care facility in Pocatello, Idaho.

David was born June 25, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son to Franklin and Leona Mae (Groff) Gillard.

David served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and fought during Vietnam. After his discharge, he moved to California and ran his business as a truck driver towing mobile homes. He later moved his business to Idaho where his hobbies of hunting, fishing, firearms and the outdoors thrived.

David married the love of his life, Linda Michalek in Merced, California on June 17, 1972. Together they raised their family.

David is survived by his wife, Linda Gillard, Bonham, TX; son, Michael (Mandy) Gillard, of Atwater, CA; daughter, Samantha Gillard of Kaufman, TX; his grandchildren, Britnie, Kilee, Ashley, and Shane Gillard of Atwater, CA; brothers, Gary Gillard, of Atwater, CA; and Dennis Gillard of Pocatello, ID; and many nieces and nephews in Idaho.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Leona and Frank Gillard.

David will be interred at the Dallas – Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX on November 24, 2018 with Military Honors.
