Daryl Ray Carpenter, 76, passed away at this home in Pocatello, Idaho on December 18, 2009 of an apparent heart attack. Daryl was born son of Carl M. and Thelma Carpenter on December 15, 1933 in Goff, Kansas. The family moved to Rupert when Daryl was a child and later he attended school in Buhl, Idaho. He moved to California to live with his uncle Charles where he enlisted in the US Navy in 1951. In 1955, Daryl married Juanita Woods, they later divorced in 1961. During this time he worked for Sprouse-Ritz Company as a manager in Ely, Nevada. Daryl moved back to Pocatello and attended ISU Vo-tech in the body and fender program. He worked for J.R. Simplot Company from 1955-1957. In 1957 he again worked for the Sprouse-Ritz Company in Spokane, Washington and Las Vegas until 1965. Other employment included working for a plywood mill in Oregon, a lumber yard in Soda Springs, and Anderson Lumber in Pocatello. In 1968, Daryl went to work for the UPRR as a brakeman retiring in 1989 due to back injuries. Daryl
