Darrell Garza

August 2, 1965 — March 7, 2016

Darrell Garza, Sr. was 50 years old when he came home to our heavenly Father.

Darrell was born on August 2, 1965 to Jimmy and Maria Garza. He attended Chubbuck Elementary, Hawthorne Middle, Highland High School, and soon after pursued his welding degree at Idaho State University. Darrell enjoyed being local and having lived in the Chubbuck – Pocatello area all his life. Growing up, Darrell absolutely loved spending time with his family – by further progressing their relationship with each and every single one of them.

In 1995, when his first son, Taris H. Garza was born, Darrell was proud of his son and was known for his long, beautiful hair. However, his life truly changed when he started his family in 1996, when he married his loving wife, Milinda Rosa Rodriguez and the birth of son, Darrell Garza, Jr. (D.J.). From that point on, his life was dedicated to making his family happy. Each family member claimed a special place in his heart: whatever interest D.J. had at the time, Darrell would go above and beyond to give his son everything his heart desired. In 2006, his first baby girl (better known as his best friend), Hope Joyce Garza even further blessed his life. From then on, his days were filled with sparkles, pink, glitter, and a whole lot of love. Hope turned him into the best dance dad in the entire world. Another blessing came in 2007 when his Thanksgiving baby (also known as his "Butterball") was born. Destiny Rose Garza soon became his "Harley Girl", and they loved riding on the motorcycle together. Destiny not only acquired Darrell's physical features, but the way he acts as well. Darrell left behind his three furry babies, Teacup Yorkies and a Teacup Chihuahua) Nano, Nano and Faith Grace. Darrell made sure they were the most spoiled dogs in the world.

Darrell was known for spending his time on the road on his Harley Davidson, considering he wanted to be just like his father, Jimmy. Darrell would always quote "Ride or Die". Exploring new restaurants was another passion of Darrell's. His mission in life was to find the biggest burger possible, quoting, "A big guy needs a big burger." The majority of his time was spent looking after his mother, Maria. Darrell was the definition of a "momma's boy". If he wasn't with his mother, then he was talking about her. Maria was Darrell's first true love, as a man's first love is his mother. Darrell adored hi family completely, being close to his brothers, Jimmy Garza, Jr (Pilo), Ricky Garza, and his sister, Mindy Medrano, whom he would talk to every day. He loved all of his many nieces and nephews. Darrell was a member of the Praise Temple of God. He, along with his wife and son, led the two young ministry groups at their church.

We'd like to thank everyone in the family, friends, church family, Steven and Ilaria Rodriguez, and everyone in the community who has reached out to us. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Millie, D.J., Hope, and Destiny have peace knowing that Darrell is now home with our Heavenly Father.

"For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal live." John 3:16
