Darla Hillebrant

Darla Kay Hillebrant, born November 17, 1946, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2017 at her home.

Darla graduated from Pocatello High School in 1965. She then went through the nurses training and spent the next 43 years as a nurse providing loving care to those in need.
Darla married Monte Minden in 1971. He proceeded her in death in 2002. In 2006, Darla married Tim Hillebrant.

Darla had a love for buttons from the time she was a child. She found an old button jar and the intrigue to study buttons became her favorite pastime. She was a member of the National Button Society and the Idaho Button Society. She held many offices in the organizations including president. She would spend hours upon hours preparing her button cards for shows and numerous hours of office work behind the scenes as an officer preparing the shows and meetings. Darla was also a member of the local Quilt Guild as she had been a quilter for many years. She also enjoyed doing stained glass work and collecting things of beauty. She was active in the Stonecroft Bible Studies for years and has quite the collection of bibles and Christian literature.

Darla is survived by her husband Timothy F. Hillebrant; sister Chris Sparks Freeberg; brothers Kreg Sparks and Skip Thyberg; and three stepchildren from her late husband Monte and three stepchildren from her husband Tim and several step grandchildren.

Darla will be greatly missed by her friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the National Cancer Society.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 South 5th Avenue, with a reception to be held after the graveside at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 West Chubbuck Road.
