POCATELLO - DaNoma Lish, 92, passed away at her residence on Sunday, August 9, 2012 from natural causes. She was born in Soda Springs, Idaho on December 10, 1919 the daughter of Alvin and Madeline (Skinner) Monroe. Born and raised on eight mile in Soda Springs, she was the second of eight children. She attended high school in Soda Springs and received a Bachelor's degree from Idaho State University. DaNoma married Leland Elmer Lish on August 6, 1950 in Pocatello. They were sealed for time and eternity on June 26, 1951 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Prior to her marriage she taught elementary school for 11 years in small school districts throughout southern Idaho. She then taught for 22 years in Pocatello School District #25. DaNoma was a charter member of Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teacher's Society; Inducted into 1 st Idaho State 4-H Hall of Fame; and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her and Leland served an 18 month service mission at the Bishop's Storehouse and she also served in various ward and stake leadership positions. She was a 4-H leader for over 45 years with home economics clubs where she affected the lives of scores of members; she loved to perform service in church; met wonderful friends square dancing; worked with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts; volunteered in local schools after retirement; loved all types of homemaking and handicrafts; gave home-made gifts to friends and family. She dearly loved spending time in Island Park, Id, with all her friends there. She loved all time spent with family, especially with her children and grandchildren around. She is survived by her daughter LeeAnne Lish of Pocatello, son Randy (Lynette) Lish of American Fork, UT, son Doryl (Anita-deceased) Lish of American Fork, UT, "adopted" daughter Bobette Finch of Pocatello, sister Verda Empey of Soda Springs, ID, sister Leatha Moore of Parma, ID, 8 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren. DaNoma was preceded in death by her husband Leland, her parents, sister Violet Pugmire, brother Melvin Monroe, brother Donald (Don) Monroe, sister Marlene Monroe, sister Dormilee Monroe and step-daughter Arlene Edwards. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2012, at the Pocatello LDS 3 rd Ward Chapel, 225 Oakwood Drive, Pocatello. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave, and also one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will follow services at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to the Beta Chapter (Delta Kappa Gamma) Scholarship Fund, c/o Rita Haggardt, 2037 E.
