Daniel Bingham Gilbert, 58, passed away peacefully at his home in Pocatello, Idaho, on a beautiful rainy, Sunday August 23, 2009, following a courageous battle with Lou Gehrigs disease (ALS). Dan was the third of six children (Jim, Leslie, Dan, Sky, Nicolen, and Lisa). Dan was born on June 12, 1951, to Frank Barlow Gilbert and Carol Bingham Gilbert, in Logan, Utah. He attended school in and graduated Preston High School in 1969. He graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors degree in Big Game Management with a desire to pursue Fish and Game. When he graduated the industry was slow and so he turned to Law enforcement where he became a patrol officer for 20 years and a D.A.R.E. officer for 10 years at the local elementary schools.
