Dale H. Viehweg, 85, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at his home. He was born on August 8, 1933 in Logan, Utah to Carl and Wilma Viehweg. Dale grew up on a farm in Clifton, ID and attended Westside High School. He also went to the LDS Business College in SLC, UT. Dale married Patricia Mae McIlrath on January 14, 1961, in Bountiful, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on January 31, 1974. Dale was a salesman for Western Equipment Co. in SLC, UT, worked in the Phosphate Industry in Soda Springs, ID, top furnace and maintenance at Monsanto, was a maintenance and panelboard operator at Beker Ind. Dale was involved in Scouting, the John Birch Society, and Kiwanis Club and campaigned on a number of local and state Republican candidates. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dale was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. He also enjoyed Politics, history and Scouting. He served in the US Navy as a radio operator from 1952 to 1956. He served a mission for the LDS Church in the Central States Mission from 1957 to 1959. Dale is survived by his spouse, Patricia Mae Viehweg, Pocatello, ID; sons, Allen Dale (Connie) Viehweg, Inkom, ID, Michael Carl (Anjanette) Viehweg, Middleton, ID, Mark William (Jeanette) Viehweg, Irving, TX, daughters, Kaylin (John) White, Pocatello, ID, Lisa (Mitch) Myers, Oak View, CA; sister, Gloria Smith, Soda Springs, ID; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Wilma Viehweg; sister, Carolyn Gee; and brother, Richard Viehweg. Services will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 12 pm at the LDS Chapel, 5425 S. Bannock Hwy. Pocatello, ID 83204, with a viewing from 10-11:45 prior. Burial will follow at the Clifton Cemetery.
