June 24, 1942 — August 4, 2023

Dale Douglas DeVoss, age 81, a resident of Pocatello, Idaho passed away August 4th, 2023, at Caring Hearts Assisted Living in Pocatello. He was born June 24th, 1942, in Estherville, Iowa. Dale was the son to the late Delmar Duane DeVoss and the late Trella Mable Ellen Whitacre DeVoss, and the husband to the late Marlene L. DeVoss.

Dale lived in and attended schools in various areas including Iowa, Alaska, New Mexico, Texas, Tennessee, and Japan. He served his country in the US Air Force after he graduated in 1961 at Central High School in Murfreesboro, TN. He enjoyed cars, hunting, guns and reading. He never met a stranger and always had a twinkle in his eyes. After his four years in the Air Force, he attended college at MTSU. While attending MTSU he met and married a Murfreesboro resident, Judy F. Toombs with whom he shared two children, David D. DeVoss and Melinda F. DeVoss. In 1977 they moved to Pocatello, Idaho. Following his marriage to Judy, Dale met and married Marlene L. Jensen, the love of his life, in 1979. Dale enjoyed driving around this great nation of ours and was blessed with a job that gave him the opportunity to do just that. When he wasn’t working, you would see him driving around with Marlene and seeing the sights around Idaho and the surrounding states. They also enjoyed their weekly card games with Tom and Ginger.

In addition to his children, he is survived by his stepdaughter Lori Sakurada, step grandson Anthony, step granddaughter Kristi and step granddaughter Shadamar, as well as daughter-in-law Ivy DeVoss and grandson David DeVoss of Idaho, son-in-law Jeff Thomas, granddaughter Carmine “Fayth” DeVoss Thomas, granddaughter Isabella “Hope” DeVoss Thomas, grandson Matthew Thomas of Tennessee, brother Dean DeVoss, sister-in-law Nora DeVoss, sister Nancy D. Farrens, brother-in-law Dock Farrens of Idaho and sister-in-law Elaine DeVoss of Virginia.

Along with his parents and wife he is preceded in death by his brother, Darrel D. DeVoss and step-grandson Tyson Sakurada.
