POCATELLO - Dakota Darrell Jacobsen passed away unexpectedly at his home early Saturday morning January 22, 2011.
Dakota was born July 6, 1992 to Donald Dee Jacobsen and Amy Bullock Jacobsen Bruce. He is the middle brother to older sister Amber and younger sister SaDee. Dakota grew up in Downey, Idaho where he attended Downey Elementary, Marsh Valley Middle School and graduated from Marsh Valley High School in May 2010. He had just finished his first semester at ISU.
Dakota was very active in sports including soccer, basketball, football, snowboarding and baseball. Some of his biggest accomplishments were in 8th grade when the Marsh Valley Redskins went to Las Vegas for football. He played football all the way through his Junior year. His Junior and Senior year he played Legion baseball as catcher. During the winter weekends he was found on the ski hill snowboarding with his buddies, his sisters and mom. His buddy Keith mentored him on extreme sports including snowmobile climbing, rock climbing and life in general. In the summer he was dirt biking and hanging out at the Lava Pool doing tricks off the platforms including gainers, lincolns, etc. He also loved floating the river with his buddies. Easily stated Dakota's biggest fans and best friends were his sisters. The three of them were inseparable and a force to be reckoned with.
Dakota is survived by his mother Amy and his step-dad Robert Bruce, father Donald Jacobsen, siblings Amber , SaDee, Cal, Taylor and Grayson. Grandparents Richard and Jackie McFadden, Donald and Jan Jacobsen Sr.,Grandmother Jan Jacobsen and Guy and Sheri Bliesner. Aunts Gina (Darren) Gates, Mandi (John) Everett, Jaylene (Mike) Groeniger, Sheryl (Terry) O'Rear, Shelly (Jay) Gasvoda, Brenda (John) Redmond, Darce (Shade) Bishop, Suzi (David) Pearson, Uncles Alan (Heather) McFadden, Scott (Pam) Jacobsen and Jon (Becky) Jacobsen, Guy (Cindy) Bliesner, Terry Bliesner, Dorsel Tyler, cousins David, Nikki, Justin, Damian, Tucker, Tanner, Bo, Austin, Chance, Madison, Nolan, Kaylee, Tyler, Cassandra, Jessica, Cole, Justin, Michael, Austin, Jessie, and special friends Keith Jackson and Dakota Howell.
He is preceded in death by his Grandpa Darrell Bullock, Great Grandparents Tim and Velma Bullock and Nate and Sis Turpin, Aunt Kim Bliesner and cousins Tyson Bullock and Cody Hall.
