Cory James Bieker

d. January 10, 2015

Cory James Bieker, 38, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from his lifelong battle with Muscular Dystrophy, while surrounded by his loving family. Cory was born April 11, 1976 in Pocatello, Idaho to Sheila Bieker. He was the oldest of 3 children and his siblings are; Michelle Lynn Purkey and Steven Ray Simmons. Cory graduated from Highland High School in 1995, which was a proud accomplishment for him. After Corys graduation, he quickly entered the workforce at Dennys Restaurant in Pocatello. Cory then transitioned his employment to Walmart, then Winco, until his disease forced his medical retirement in 2010. Even with Corys debilitating disease, he always had a strong will for hard work. But, before Corys retirement, his greatest blessing occurred on October 12, 2009. That was the birth of his son River Taylor Bieker. The Birth of River was Corys greatest gift in life because at that moment, Corys life was not only transformed, but truly fulfilled with love, joy and pride. Cory will always be an angel for the family, but he will always be Rivers personal guardian angel. Cory has always had a love for family and nature. He spent many years camping, fishing, and traveling. He also, had a great love for animals, especially his dogs. Cory is survived by his son, River Taylor Bieker of Malad, Idaho; sister, Michelle Simmons Purkey (Josh) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; brother, Steven Simmons (Ann) of Tooele, Utah; grandfather, Lynn Simmons Pocatello, Idaho; and nieces, a nephew, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sheila Bieker Simmons; grandparents, Ralph and Raydella Bieker; grandmother, Irene Simmons; uncle, Eugene king; aunt, Maureen Wickham; cousin, Brandon Paulsen, and cousin, Tabra Cruz. Cory has been a blessing for his family and was the most kind-hearted and loving person. Cory was able to calm fear and comfort anyone who encountered him. He was a constant teacher of love and peace for all who knew him. Cory had nothing but love for his son and family, and Cory lived to care for the ones he loved most in this world. Cory had a true heart of tenderness and innocence which made him loved by all Gods creatures. We are all better and blessed to have had him in our lives. He will be sorely and truly missed.
