Cornell Dee Henderson (61) was born to Boyd F. Henderson and Ethel C. Henderson. When the family was complete, Cornell was the 7th child and had 6 Brothers and 2 sisters. Most of his growing up, Cornell lived on Maple Street where there were plenty of brothers, friends and neighbors for baseball games and other mischief. He was always involved in sports including football, baseball, basketball, racquetball, wrestling, water and snow skiing. . . and others.
He served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in the California Ventura Mission. There he loved and served many and learned leadership. Later he served the Lord in the bishopric, high council, scout leader and until his illness, as a temple worker.
Cornell married Kayleen Bates in 1984. They were blessed with 6 children.
Cornell loved to garden. He bottled spaghetti sauce and salsa from things he grew. He enjoyed gathering apples from far and wide and pressing them for juice. He was a BYU football fan. The thing he loved about his work was that he could come to the rescue when people were confronted with a disaster.
Thank you to all who rubbed shoulders with Cornell and who called him friend.
