Connie Lee Newsom

Connie Lee Newsom, 64 passed away peacefully on May 6, 2011 at Portneuf Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Connie was born on April 25, 1947, the daughter of Gladys L. and Dale W. Mann, and attended schools in Pocatello.

On March 1st, 1965 Connie married Larry W. Ames and they had two children together, Kimberly Ames-Shaffer and Dale Ames. Connie and Larry later divorced.

Connie went on to meet the love of her life whom she shared 36 years of marriage with. On June 15, 1974, Connie married Ernest L. Newsom.

Connie worked hard all of her life. She retired after 30 years of work at the Hotel now named the Red Lion. Connie was the Executive Housekeeper.

Connie is survived by her husband, Ernest Newsom; daughter, Kimberly (Ames) Shaffer; grandson, Cody Ames, all of Pocatello; grandsons, Brandon Ames and Scott Sanders both of Ogden, Utah and seven great-grandchildren.

Connie is preceded in death by her father and mother, Dale W. Mann and Gladys L. Mann and her son, Dale W. Ames.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Newsom family c/o Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, Idaho 83201, to aid with final expenses.
