Connie Dinnsen was born December 19, 1937, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She passed away on January 3, 2025 in Meridian, Idaho at age 87. Her formal education began in Albuquerque, New Mexico and continued throughout her life. She was an Education major at the University of New Mexico but upon finishing decided that teaching was not her cup of tea.
After college, Connie headed west to California where she did secretarial work and married Ira Ingram, a mechanical engineer who worked at the same company. Subsequently, Ira built a business that specialized in designing and building custom machinery. Their union was blessed with a daughter named Dana Lynn Ingram.
Connie and Ira moved a lot…heading north to Oregon, then Washington, then Tampa, Florida. Connie became a Certified Title Officer in the title insurance industry. Ira had a stroke in 1990, and they moved to Idaho where he passed away five years later. Connie then moved to Draper, Utah.
Connie was a talented artist who painted a little but mostly worked with her hands, making clay pots and sculptures.
Back in California in 1961, Connie and Ira became close friends with Fred and Robi Dinnsen, then living in the same apartment building. The two couples exchanged dinner parties and camped together. Dana and the two Dinnsen children, Doug and Karen, were childhood playmates.
After Fred lost his wife, he and Connie got together and were married in 2000. Together they enjoyed RV camping – including a three-month, 12,000-mile road trip to Alaska. They also took ocean cruises to exotic ports in Europe, Panama Canal, Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii. They also took a two-week college-sponsored tour of Italy while living in Prescott, Arizonia. They were living in a retirement community in Idaho when Connie passed.
Connie is survived by her Husband Fred, daughter Dana and husband Dr. Gary Zeigler, Fred’s son Doug Dinnsen and Daughter Karen Kehoe, seven grandchildren: Natalie Hergesheimer, Samantha Zeigler, Catherine Zeigler, Brian Zeigler, Christopher Zeigler, Christopher Kehoe, Jason Kehoe, Katie Foodrill, Joshua Barry, siblings Ernestine, Louis, and Joseph, and four great grandchildren.
Connie had a ready smile for everyone and will be greatly missed.
