Connie Jean Higgins Brangham, passed away on January 3, 2025 at 90 years old. She was born on November 30, 1934 at the Pocatello General Hospital to Connie and Helen Mary Higgins. She was named after her biological father, “Connie” who passed away six months before her birth.
For the first four years of her life, she lived with her Grandma and Grandpa Nelson. Her mother, Helen, then met Glen D Lowe, and they later married on September 19, 1938. Glen took over the role of her father and she was sealed to him in the Idaho Falls Temple on October 2, 1967.
Connie attended all her school years in Pocatello, Idaho and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1952. During those years, she enjoyed working at Pleasureland in Ross Park. She met Stan Brangham at the Deleta skating rink. They began dating and were married on August 28, 1953.
Connie and Stan went on to have four children, Linda, Marla, Karl, and Lisa. They were sealed together as a family in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1967.
Connie worked a variety of jobs which included the Mountain Bell Telephone Company in Pocatello, Idaho and in Salt Lake City, Utah. The family moved to Conda, Idaho where she worked again at the phone company in Soda Springs, Idaho then she cleaned the office building at JR Simplot Company. When they moved to Pocatello, Connie worked at Bannock Memorial Hospital and Saga Foods at ISU. Her last job was at Farmers Insurance Company from which she retired.
Connie loved being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many positions throughout the years. She also found joy in assisting her husband, Stan, with many military endeavors including the Southeast Idaho Veterans Memorial. She enjoyed vacationing in Cabo San Lucas and Island Park, she loved playing cards with family and friends and going to the casino.
Connie was a good listener and gave wonderful advice. Teaching life skills to others was mutually fulfilling not only to Connie, but to those she taught. Some of these skills included sewing, cooking, quilting, and canning. She not only taught her family, but anyone who wished to learn.
Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Stan, son, Karl, her parents and siblings. She is survived by her children, Linda (Jay) Lusk, Marla (Dave) Barney, Lisa (Tim) Hancock, 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
