Cloyd Franklin Herzog

January 5, 1930 — September 1, 2021

Cloyd franklin Herzog was born January 5, 1930 in Dayton Ohio to Franklin and Veronica Herzog. In his early years schooling was in Dayton Ohio, Huntington West Virginia, and Altoona Pennsylvania.

He graduated from High School in 1949, and moved to Cleveland Ohio where he started his 40 year career with Sherwin Williams.

In 1951 he was drafted during the Korean War. He spent his two year service in Germany on the Czech-German border, as a Radio Operator. After his discharge he rejoined his family in Oakland California.

He met the love of his life Kay Dickey. They were married in 1956 and relocated to Cleveland where he started his new job as an internal Auditor for Sherwin Williams. While there, his first daughter Debbie was born. After 3 years he was relocated to Seattle WA, where his daughter Linda was born. The family enjoyed traveling the North West.

His next promotion took the family to southern California where he became District Audit Manager. His assignments expanded greatly, auditing Manufacturing plants, distribution centers and region offices. He made the first international audit and his travels took him to Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Panama, and many countries in Europe. He retired in 1991 after 40+ years with Sherwin-Williams.

He loved playing golf throughout his life starting when he was 14.

The family loved travel and camping in our RV and boating in the southern California coastal waters.
Cloyd enjoyed Hunting and fishing throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kay, daughter Debbie, brother Richard, and sister Barbara.
Cloyd is survived by his daughter Linda, two grandchildren Renee (Zac) and Jake (Sammy), two great-grandchildren Harper, and Ruby.

A memorial Graveside will take place on October 2, 2021 at Mountain View Cemetery, Pocatello ID, at 11:00 a.m. Military honors will be provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard.
