Clifford Melvern Ball, 94, of Idaho Falls for the past two years and formerly of Pocatello, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. He was born on June 29, 1915, to Arthur R. Ball of Kansas and Anna Reid Cameron of Iowa. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp on July 18, 1941 and served honorably until his discharge on October 25, 1945. Clifford went to the College of Idaho, now ISU, and studied Forestry. He married Loretta Leppert on November 22, 1944, in San Francisco, California, and they had 4 children. After the death of his first wife, he married Laura W. Simonson of Pocatello with her 5 kids; the blended family had a total of 9 children. Clifford worked in the field of Forestry for a time, and later as a railway clerk for the railroad. He was chief diversion clerk for Pacific Fruit Express at the time of his retirement, about 1976. He kept active though golf, tennis, and jogging. Served in the community and was active politically. He loved dancing, singing, square dancing, traveling, camping, gardening, and particularly tending his irises. He enjoyed serving in many leadership positions in the LDS Church. He and his wife Laura served a mission in San Carlos, Arizona, among the Navajos. When they returned, they served in the Idaho Falls Temple for 10 years.
