POCATELLO-Christian Hatten, 85, passed away Thursday morning August 4, 2011 at a local care facility in Pocatello form natural causes. He was born October 31, 1925 in Kemmerer, WY the son of Charles and Drusilla (Emigh) Hatten and was the youngest of six children. Christian enlisted into the Marines at the young age of 17 and served in WWII and Korea receiving a honorable discharge. Christian married Barbara Hill-Currey on April 17, 1970 in Watsonville, CA. He worked for the UPRR and was later educated and licensed as a Mortician. His Mortuary Science education came from attending the San Francisco Mortuary College. His mortuary career included working for Mehl's Colonial Chapel in Watsonville, CA; Buck Sullivan in Idaho Falls, ID and Colonial Funeral Home here in Pocatello. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, was a 32 Degree Mason, and a Shriner. He also enjoyed private flying, fishing, boating, scuba diving and camping. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hatten of Blackfoot, ID; son, Mark Hatten of Bonners Ferry, ID, daughter, Kathryn Stugart, of Livermore, CA, son, Scott Hatten of Santa Cruz, CA, step-son, John Currey of Idaho Falls, ID, step-daughters, Debbie Hurley of Watsonville, CA, Linda Currey of Santa Margarita, CA, Tracy Currey of Boise, ID, Cathleen Morton of Blackfoot, ID, Christine Wolff of England; Sisters, Eileen Knowlton of Montana and Rebecca Borino of Wyoming; 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cindy Tacktill; siblings, Lyle Hatten, LaVanda Lallatin and Jayne Stoor. There will be a Private Graveside Service only. Services are under the care and direction of Colonial Funeral Home 233-1500.
