Charles “Chuck” Mock, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 18, 2011 at a local care facility. Chuck was born in Blackfoot, Idaho on October 12, 1933 to Charles and Sadie Mock. His father passed away when he was 3 years old. He went to live with his dad's sister, Aunt “Mom” Rose and her husband Uncle “Dad” Archie Sorensen in Neely, Idaho a little place outside of American Falls. He went to school in American Falls where he played all sports and did very well in them; especially baseball. He graduated in 1951 from American Falls High School. He worked for the railroad for awhile. In 1952 Fred Sawyer supt. at the American Falls Power Plant asked him if he would like to work temporary for Idaho Power. June 1, 1952 he started and ended up working 46 years and 5 months. 40 years were fulltime and the last 6 years were on disability.

In 1954 he was drafted in the U.S. Army. He served in Germany after the Korean War. While there he played baseball and excelled and that is where he got offered a job playing with the Pittsburgh Pirates farm club. However, he decided to stay with Idaho Power, a choice he never regretted.

In 1956 Chuck met Echo Allen and on December 7, 1956 they were married. They had 4 wonderful children who have given them many happy years. They moved to Swan Falls where Chuck was made a chief operator and was there until the spring of 1982. They moved to lower salmon in Hagerman in 1983. They then moved to Bliss and became a supervisor there. In May 1984 he became supervisor of the largest power plant in Brownlee/Hells Canyon. He started the next phase of his life; he built a new home in Chubbuck, Idaho, where he resided until he entered the Veterans Home in 2010.

We all go in different directions as the years go by but you all remain in our hearts and memories as dear friends. He could never express how much love he had for his 4 children, 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was known for playing pranks on all of the people he was around. He never got enough of his hunting, camping and snowmobiling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and granddaughter Ann Michelle.
