Charles V. Orton, 79, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at a local care center. He was born in Pocatello and resided in Chubbuck, Idaho. He attended Pocatello High School. On February 25, 1956 he married Lereane Ruth Murdock and they shared 52 years together. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Charles was employed for 43 years with Associated Foods; from April 9, 1956 to June 1999. He served in the Army National Guard and he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Charles enjoyed the outdoors; snowmobiling, four wheeling, fishing, hunting, boating and planting flowers. He loved wood working, spending time with his family and being at his home away from home in Island Park. He built their residence in Chubbuck, Idaho and their cabin in Island Park, Idaho. Chuck was very creative and spent a lot of time in his shop building, fixing, and tinkering. Charles is survived by his daughters, Denise (Dave) Nisson of Magna, UT, Leisa (Greg) Harris of Aberdeen, ID, Julie (Steve) Lenon of Pocatello, ID, Charla Orton of Dickinson, ND; brothers, Kenneth James (Sandra) Orton of Pocatello, ID, Norman (Barbara) Reisner of Pocatello, ID, Conley (Sherry) Beebe of American Falls, ID; and sister, Colleen Bell of Pocatello, ID; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Charles Orton; mother, Ida (Frank) Beebe; wife, Lereane Ruth Murdock Orton; and sister, Florine Fuller-Essick. The family wishes to thank the staff at Heritage Home Health and Hospice and The Gables Assisted Living and Memory Care for the exceptional care and love that was shown to Chuck. In lieu of flowers, take your family out to dinner. This is what Chuck would have wanted. A viewing will take place on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201, 208-233-1500. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11 am also at Colonial Funeral Home with a viewing for one hour prior to the services. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83204.
