POCATELL0 - Charles Franklin Kessler passed away peacefully at home where he lived with his son Roger and Dalene in Pocatello, ID, on Tuesday, June 28, 2012, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Charles was born January 22, 1931, in Nisland, South Dakota, to John and Velma Kessler, He was the 9 th child out of 13. He was raised in Eden, ID. He married Peggy J Stout from Filer, ID, on August 18, 1951. They were blessed with 7 children. They later divorced in 1983. He is a Veteran that served in the Korean War. Dad owned his own trucking company in Eden, ID. He later moved to Pocatello and attended ISU where he received a Vocational Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for JR Simplot for 16 years. He attended the Church of Christ. More recently he enjoyed starting a small farm of pigs, chickens, cows, horses, dogs and many cats. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and camping with his family and friends. He grew the biggest and best gardens that everyone enjoyed. He never passed up the opportunity to help someone. He enjoyed traveling with his sisters. Charles would never pass up a card game! He is preceded in death by his parents John and Velma Kessler, 6 brothers Jim, George, Earl, Bill, Bob, and Cliff, and 4 sisters Marie, Veora, Nadine, and Katherine. Two great-grandkids Adam Kessler and Pamela Kay Hendricks. His surviving family is Charles (Barbara), Roger (Dalene) Michael (Pam) Kessler from Pocatello. John (Carie) from Twin Falls. Jack (Lori) from Modesto, CA. Velma (Roger) Rowland, Valorie Kessler of Jerome, ID. Brothers Marvin from Texas and Jack from Utah. Along with 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 5:00 p.m. This will be held at Dad, Roger and Dalene's home at RT 2 N Box 162, Pocatello, ID. mile west on Cemetery Rd off Hwy 91.
