Charles "Chuck" Franklin Chittock 66, a resident of Pocatello, Idaho passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Sunday, February 21st in his home. He fought a long, courageous 2 ½ year battle after 2 brain surgeries.
He was born on May 6th, 1949 in St. Helens Oregon. He was the 4th of 11 children born to John and Virginia (Mills) Chittock. The family moved from Oregon to Idaho, where he later made Pocatello his permanent home.
Chuck worked most of his life as an auto mechanic. The majority of his career was for the Idaho Transportation Dept. He loved working on cars and trucks, especially when it was to help someone else in need. His true loves in life were his wife, children, grand children, and his dogs. He loved the outdoors and playing cards with his friends and brothers. He served as a member of the Dodge National Rodeo committee. He loved everything about the Rodeo! He attended the National Finals Rodeo Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada for years.
After retirement, they had a second home in Yuma, Arizona which he referred to as his "heaven on earth." They made many lifelong friends while there.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Pauline (Lyons) Chittock; daughters, Sausha Lyons, and Sharesa (Todd) Tolman; and son, Doug Chittock. In addition to his 3 children, Chuck had 9 grandchildren that he adored. Chuck is also survived by his sisters, Leah, Kathy, Cheryl and Jenny and brothers, Ward and Victor.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers; John, Peter, and Randy and his sister Sandy.
Funeral services for Chuck will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the LDS Church at 300 E Chapel Road in Pocatello. A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2015 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow services on Thursday at Mountain View Cemetery, where military rites will be provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard.
