Celia R Velasco

Our dear mother Celia Velasco sadly passed away surrounded by loved ones on March 20, 2024 at the age of 88. Celia was born to Rafeal and Petra Rodriguez on August 25, 1935 in Pocatello Idaho. In her teenage years she met Jose and later married him on February 16, 1952. Together they had six beautiful children.

In her younger years Celia enjoyed spending her time dancing. She later enjoyed spending time traveling with her husband to Mexico and often frequented Jackpot. She loved to cook and share her love of cooking with all those she cared for. Her recipes were even sought after by many that were getting started in the restaurant business. Celia's first job was being a waitress at Remo's were she spent a number of years, followed by spending fifteen years with AMI where she met many friends and later retired from.

Celia was preceeded in death by her mother Petra, father Rafael, her husband Jose, and her children Susie and Joe. She was also preceeded in death by all five of her siblings; George, Roger, Ralph, Roy and Juantia. Celia is survived by her children Arturo, Mario, Margarita (Kelly) and Vida (Tim). She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Heritage Hospice for their excellent care throughout this difficult journey. 

Family will be gathering at 10 AM with services being held Tuesday March 26, 2024 at 11 AM at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Rd, Chubbuck, ID 83202.
