Cecil Leroy Girard

Cecil Leroy Girard, 90, passed away on November 13, 2024, at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho.

 Cecil was born on May 9, 1934, to Otto and Hazel and Girard in Inkom, Idaho.

 He joined the Air Force on March 15, 1955. It was during his time in Japan that Cecil met Hanako. They were married and lived a long, happy life together until her passing in 2022.

 Cecil was an airplane mechanic. His military career meant his family moved around. After retiring from the military on April 1, 1975, they eventually settled down in Inkom, Idaho.

 Cecil loved fishing and his travels to Japan. He spent a lot of time putting together puzzles and collecting rocks. Cecil was most proud of his family, and they meant the world to him.

 He is preceded in death by his sweetheart, Hanako, and his parents Otto and Hazel Girard. Cecil is survived by his daughter, Keiko (Ray) Elkins of Madill, OK; brother Raymond Girard of Inkom, ID; sister Karen Whitworth of Inkom, ID; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

 A graveside service will be held for Cecil on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Inkom Cemetery.
