Carwin Fred Egbert known as "Corky" passed away January 11, 2018. He was 88 years of age and passed away from pneumonia and age. He was cared for at home by his wife, Cyrena, and Heritage Hospice. He was born April 29, 1929 to Joseph Robert Egbert and Anna Marie Blaser. He was the third of eight children; George, Carl (both deceased), Sheila, Jack, Loree (deceased), Roberta and Jay. He worked for the Railroad, Idaho Bank & Trust and Farmers Insurance; where he retired after 35 years of service. He married LuGean Beus November 15, 1949 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They had 5 children, James-deceased (Marla), Wanda (Tom), Laura (Annette), Jerry-deceased, and Jo. After LuGean's passing, Corky married Cyrena Egbert Feb. 14, 1975. Corky was an avid golfer and played with Joe Burton a buddy from Farmers Ins. Corky and Cyrena also enjoyed square dancing for several years. He was very active in the LDS Church and was a High Priest in the Chubbuck 1st Ward. Corky and Cyrena spent a year on a Family History Mission for the church. They enjoyed 22 winters in Yuma, AZ., where he was in the Bishopric. They still have some very good friends that they met there. Corky was a friend to everyone and loved to meet new and old friends. He had a good time rolling quarters in his fingers and passing them out to grandchildren, and he loved to pass out pieces of candy to children in church or the neighborhood. He loved golfing with his daughters and enjoyed betting a dollar on the games with his daughter, Laura, and figuring out a new way to pay-off.
