Carolyn J. Miller

March 31, 1940 — April 17, 2010

POCATELLO " Carolyn Jean Hale Miller, 70, passed away April 17, 2010 at home surrounded by her family after a two year battle with cancer that she valiantly fought to the end.
Carolyn was born on March 31, 1940 in Ontario, Oregon to Col. Ralph Norman Hale and Dorothy Jean (Hutchinson) Hale. As part of an Army family including three brothers, they lived in many places throughout the U.S. and abroad in Germany; although Carolyn always considered Boise her home. After graduating from Boise High School she married her high school sweetheart, Gary Glen Miller on April 8, 1959. They soon had two daughters, Tammie and Tracie. After relocating to Pocatello, their home of 46 years, they welcomed their son, Kevin.
Carolyn retired from the ISU Dental Hygiene Department where she made many friends. She enjoyed working with the students. Her hobbies included gardening, home remodeling, and antiquing. She was a perfectionist at all that she did. She was loved very much by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Carolyn is preceded in death by both of her parents and a brother, Randy Hale. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gary Miller; daughters, Tammie Andreason of Pocatello; Tracie (Rob) Robbins of Boise; Kevin Miller of Boise; 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, with two more on the way; brothers, Doug (Marylee) Hale of Boise; and Rod (Marsha) Hale of Boise; three aunts of Boise; and her beloved cat, Annie.
The Miller family wishes to extend a special “Thank You” to the Creekside Hospice staff which assisted and comforted them greatly in the final days and also to the Portneuf Cancer Center for all they did to care for our wife and mother.
