Carolyn returned home on August 4, 2016 and was reunited with her husband, parents and siblings.
Carolyn Ellen Nichols was born April 25, 1926 in View, Idaho at the home of her grandmother, the daughter of Loren William Nichols and Virginia Margueritte Foster Nichols.
Carolyn married Allen William Carter for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on November 20, 1946. They were blessed with 6 children, Linda Ann (Steve) Tanner; Michael Allen (Linda) Carter; Bradley William (Diana) Carter; Debra Jane (Glen) Duffin; Gerald Loren Carter; and Jeffrey Dell (Hope) Carter.
Carolyn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served in the Relief Society and Primary. She was active in PTA and was an amazing Avon lady. Carolyn did beautiful embroidery; she enjoyed puzzles, music and reading her scriptures.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren William and Virginia Margueritte Nichols; her sisters, Gloria Tolleson, Maxine Hanks; brother, Loren Nichols; and her husband Allen William Carter. She is survived by her sister, Carma Sue Symes; her six children and their spouses and 20 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Carolyn will be at 11:00 am on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the LDS Cedar Building, 550 W. Cedar Street. A viewing will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 11th at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Her interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
